Is Zona Plus Your Type of Device?
Let's take a look at what the Zona Plus device can do for you. I have not used this device due to having had such success with my normal blood pressure diet. But, I do use another type device that uses similar isometric hand grip therapy. It's amazing that hand grip exercises have a lowering effect on blood pressure, but they seem to. Nevertheless, I feel that this therapy is a support system and not a total cure even though experiments testing it did not require any dietary changes. Let's take a look at the experimental results.
Results with medicated hypertensives on the Zona Plus deviceOne experiment showed an average drop in systolic pressure of 15.3. Another experiment yielded average drop in systolic pressure of 19 and in diastolic of 7. An independent clinical study done over the course of a year gave participants an amazing drop in average systolic pressure of 30.75 and in diastolic of 16. The treating physician was able to remove several patients from medication all together! So possibly, you could drop to a normal blood pressure by using this device. Now, suppose you are close to your ideal blood pressure already and want to maintain it?
Results on people with normal blood pressureOne study produced an average drop in systolic pressure from 120 to 110. In another experiments on people with what I would call ideal blood pressure, average systolic pressure dropped from 116 to 113. Average diastolic pressure dropped impressively from 67 to 62. This shows that the device improves normal tone as well as hypertensive tone and would probably be beneficial for those with any degree of hypertension. It does quickly lower blood pressure, so what's the problem?
Are there downsides to Zona Plus?1. As with blood pressure drugs, the device may mask fundamental problems in the body caused by various things, such as improper
diet,
which could lead to other body trouble later on. 2. The device costs over $300, although you could argue that that's cheap compared to dying of a stroke. 3. The device uses an isometric handgrip protocol, which can be duplicated with $20 handgrips with guidance and practice. 4. The device may not normalize pulse pressure. Pulse pressure is calculated by subtracting diastolic pressure from the systolic. For instance, 120/80 yields a pulse pressure of 120 - 80, or 40. 40 or lower is supposed to be good, so was the change in one of the experiments mentioned above really beneficial? Pulse pressure before use of the device was 116 - 67 = 49. After use, it was 113 - 62 = 51, a rise. That's an open question. What do you think?
Here's my take on the Zona Plus device. It's a pretty good deal. I would encourage you to buy and use it as a way to quickly lower blood pressure if you are willing to cough up the cash. Nevertheless, I recommend that you do not depend on it alone. Use the other methods found on this site in a balanced healthy approach.
