Hypertension Causes Are Where The Bad Guys Hang Out
One of the first things I found out was that hypertension causes are unknown to our medical friends. Researchers have discovered some valuable information, however, which we'll hit on. Our medicos have a name for their confessed ignorance. They call it primary (or essential) hypertension. Most high blood pressure is primary hypertension and the target of our normal blood pressure diet. When doctors say they don't know what causes primary hypertension, they mean they know of no germs or pathological conditions that lead to this type of high blood pressure. So, how to lower blood pressure becomes primarily which drug to prescribe, what to avoid, and what lifestyle and dietary changes to make. A few years back, my blood pressure was 170/85, so I was put on a common blood pressure drug and told that normal blood pressure was a thing of my past, never to be achieved again.
That started me thinking - as much as I love it, my body is just a biological machine. And, what do I know about machines? I know that if I put the wrong stuff into my car (a machine) and don't change the oil, the engine fills up with gunk and doesn't work right. Could the same be true of our bodies? I think so. With this conclusion entrenched, I searched out some hypertension causes:
caffeine and blood pressure,
alcohol and blood pressure,
smoking and high blood pressure,
salt and hypertension,
stress and hypertension? Each one of these may elevate or intensify hypertension. So, with that start let's see what we can do.
Some common hypertension causes to eliminate or avoidTobacco, caffeine, alcohol, salt, stressful activities, overweight, inactivity (sitting around), sugar, processed and cured foods, and some medications. Eliminating these things is simple in concept, but often difficult to do. I gave up tobacco completely and alcohol for the most part. I've reduced salt, caffeine and sugar. I sit for most of my work, so to compensate, I stand often and exercise for thirty minutes three times a week. I avoid most processed and cured foods. Right now I take no medications and I'm lowering my weight at a slow pace. Stress is a part of my life, so I compensate with relaxation and some breathing exercises. Sound like a lot to do? It was until they became part of my life. Now my blood pressure averages 138/73. Only a few points more downward, and I'll no longer have hypertension. I will have prehypertension instead. ;-)
I'd like eliminating these causes easy for you. Try making a list of what things to avoid in order of easiest to hardest, then start with the easiest, conquer that, then go on to the next hardest and so on. Always do the easiest one first As you begin getting rid of these bad guys, you'll gain more confidence and strength to handle the tougher ones. Give yourself a boost, too. Get on a good
normal blood pressure diet.
Handling hypertension causes is more like a war than a picnic, but who said how to lower blood pressure was easy? Returning to your normal blood pressure is worth it. You'll live longer and healthier! Well, darn, I've been preaching! Sorry for that. If you want, you can forget all that serious stuff. Make lowering your blood pressure a game, then win at it. Don't forget all those good tips on the other pages.
