Okay, Pumpkin Seeds Aren't
the Only Healthy Snacks

My mother was a believer in healthy snacks. Let's see if she was right in her choices.

I remember rummaging through the variety of nuts sitting in a wooden bowl on our coffee table: hazel nuts, walnuts, pecans, and almonds were the usual ones.

A nut pick sat in the tray. You used the pick nudge out the nut meats. I'd always stop by the bowl and snag a few nuts.

I don't think mom had them out as a part of any high blood pressure diet. They were just something to fool with and munch on.

There were no seeds sitting out in our house. I discovered sunflower seeds first after I became an adult, then somewhere along the way, pumpkin seeds. I use flax seed, too, but that's a real latecomer.

Pumpkin seeds are my favorite, Just a few will satisfy a hunger urge. They are chock full of nutrients. And, they will help lower blood pressure naturally.

But, if you are blood type B or AB and follow the Blood Type Diet, you need to avoid them and eat other nutritious seeds and nuts.

Seeds and nuts are fantastic additions to the Vegetarian Diet. You can darn near live off of them!

Do you want normal blood pressure? Make nuts and seeds part of Your Diet Plan.

Warning: Some people are allergic to certain nuts and seeds. Take care when trying ones that you have not eaten before. Obviously, if you are allergic to them, they will not be healthy for you.

For most of us, though, seeds and nuts can assist us in controlling blood pressure and are essential for maintaining a normal range blood pressure.

I suggest incorporating them into your diet as my mother did: Have them sitting around within easy reach.

Join me in pausing at the nut bowl for a few of these tasty healthy snacks.
