Lower Your Blood Pressure?

"Keep away from any fad diet types," I've always said. But, I've changed my mind. Let's see why.

A fad is something that becomes popular then fades away.

Fad diet types are usually characterized by their emphasis on one or more foods to the exclusion of others, perhaps even whole food groups.

As well, most of the top 10 fad diets maintain that certain foods are bad and, therefore, forbidden.

Although I do not recommend that you turn to fad diets for your long term normal blood pressure diet, they may be useful if you have a lot of weight to lose fast, providing you go about it correctly.

If you are within ten pounds of your target weight, I wouldn't do any of the top ten fad diets. However, if you are twenty or more pounds overweight, you might want to consider them.



What's wrong with the latest fad diet?

Several things are wrong with whichever is the current fad.

Eating the same things over and over again can be boring.

Many fad diets are not healthy in the long term if they leave out some major food groups.

The crusher is that most of the top 10 fad diets don't work long term. You hit a weight loss plateau. It's like your body says, "Whoa. Time to eat some other kinds of food."

When you give in and eat that other food not on the diet, your weight usually goes back up, wiping out any gains from the fad diet.

Before I get into how to use fad diet types effectively let's look at some fad diets you might recognize:

Lemonade diet - Drink a glass of lemonade whenever you are hungry.

3-day diet - Eat a specific mix of foods that will boost your metabolism. After three days, take a two day break before resuming.

Cabbage Soup diet - Eat only cabbage soup for seven days.

Atkins diet - Eat high protein and high fat foods with minimal carbohydrates.

Raw Food diet - Eat only raw food.

The Negative Calorie diet - Eat foods that burn more calories to digest than you will consume.

3-hour diet - Eat small meals every three hours.

The Grapefruit Diet - Eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice with every meal. Drink 8 glasses of water every day.

The Grape Diet - Eat only grapes and drink water an hour or more later.

The Hollywood Diet - For two days, drink a special juice of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and essential oils.

Most of these top ten fad diet types are to be followed only for a few days or weeks, which is wise because they lack complete nutrition.

Now, for the secret.



The secret to using fad diets

This is so simple, I can't believe no one thought of it until the last few years.

Whenever you reach a weight loss plateau, switch to a different fad diet.

Your body then will need to face a new onslaught of different diet foods.

It can't cope with this. It has just adjusted to the weird foods of diet #1, and you change to diet #2.

And there you go - more weight comes off until a new plateau is reached.

Handling? Simple - switch again to another fad diet.

But, there is more to it: Your timing, foods eaten and weight loss are intimately connected.

Get it right and you lose weight fast.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't cover such a thing, but the developer of this system lost 70 pounds and lowered his blood pressure to normal!

After any diet technique, however, your body will just pack weight back on if you return to your normal eating style.
