Coenzyme Q10 Benefits Are
Something to Write Home About

I decided to look into coenzyme q10 benefits a month before writing this. Now, I'm happy tell about this great supplement.

A month before, my systolic blood pressure averaged 142, down from 170 two years before on diet change alone.

The day of this writing, the systolic pressure was 127. The only change was the addition of 50 mg of co q10 per day.

Amazing, isn't it?

In my book that makes q10 one of the best high blood pressure supplements around.

I'm not saying that you would achieve normal blood pressure with it alone, but let me give you some more data so you can decide if you want to give it a try.

Coenzyme Q10 Benefits

In three randomized control trials, systolic pressure dropped 16.6 points, and diastolic pressure dropped 8.2 points. Other trials varied in the amount of drop, but the authors who analyzed these trials concluded that coenzyme q10 could lower systolic pressure up to 17 points and diastolic pressure up to 10 points.

In another trial of 109 patients who were all on blood pressure drugs, after 4.4 months of co q10 treatment 51% of the patients came off completely one to three of the drugs.

That is a fantastic result, don't you think?

Several clinical studies indicate that 4 - 12 weeks are needed before any beneficial results occur.

I noticed a change after 1 week, but the 15 point drop to 127 happened after 5 weeks.

Well, how about it, is it worth adding to your diet?

What lay behind these coenzyme q10 benefits?

Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like compound in the energy producing part of all body cells. The heart may have the heaviest concentration.

It is a key player in producing the cell's major energy source ATP. CoQ10 is also a major antioxidant.

Another of its roles is enhancing the immune system.

It may lower cholesterol levels, too, but we lack proof of this.

The amazing thing to me is that these are not just claims from people selling high blood pressure supplements - these are the results of clinical trials!

CoQ10 could be major in heading you toward normal blood pressure.

How do you take it?

The primary sources of CoQ10 are oily fish (such as salmon and tuna), liver, and whole grains. The only trouble is that you would need to eat a couple of pounds to get 30 mg of CoQ10.

The recommended dose of supplementation is 30 - 200 mg a day.

Q10 is fat soluble so should be taken with a meal of some fatty food for best absorption.

Coenzyme q10 benefits outweigh any side effects. In fact, the only side effect may be occasional stomach upset with some people.

But if you take it with meat or fish, there should be no problem at all.

If you are taking heart medications, CoQ10 could make them more effective or less. Check with your doctor on that if you are taking them. There should be no problem with blood pressure medications however.

How about it, are you ready to drop your blood pressure 15 points and gain a stronger heart to boot?
