My BMI Scale Says I'm Too Fat.
That's Easy to Fix!

One day I got this cardboard BMI Scale in the mail from a health outfit. It said I was too fat. I learned what to do about it, so I'm going to show you, too.

BMI stands for body mass index. The scale I received in the mail compared height and weight and gave a range of values.

My value was just over the upper end, which meant I had to lose weight or grow taller.

Seeing that I wasn't going to shoot up any more, I lost some weight and brought my BMI Scale value into range.

Now, everyone has an optimum BMI value, but it's impossible to get it from this scale due to differences in bodies as to muscle and bone weight and density and amount of fat.

Two people who have the same weight and height can have large differences in BMI. The scales take this into account by giving you a range. Fall within this range and you're okay per the scale.

As with weight, BMI has lots to do with maintaining normal blood pressure.

Blood pressure measures the resistance of blood flowing through the blood vessels and capillaries. High blood pressure means more resistance.

More fat means more blood vessels the heart has to pump blood through, hence greater resistance just due to the extra vessels.

So my friends, the short and simple solution is to get rid of the fat!

Diet is the main culprit. So, change it, I implore you. Then, your blood pressure will improve.

But, you need a proper scale to begin your improvement.

You can get weight and BMI from the same bath scale

I have a body fat monitor and scale. I love it.

This type of scale is one of the best bathroom scales to have. Now, that I have and use one, I wonder how I ever got along without it.

With it, you can not only track your weight, but your proportion of body fat, too.

Let's say your weight if fine, but you want to look less pudgy. Through diet and exercise you gain more muscle. If your weight remains the same, your fat proportion will have decreased.

The result? You look better at the same weight.

The weight portion of the scale is your standard electronic digital bathroom scale similar to a Weight Watchers Scale (good scale by the way).

The BMI scale part utilizes bioelectrical impedance - It puts a tiny current of electricity through your body. The more body water in your body, the easier the current flows.

As fat doesn't contain much water, it hinders the flow. This gives you a measure of your fat proportion.

Convinced you need a body fat monitor and scale? Here are some brands:

Detecto, Health-O-Meter, HoMedic, Life Science, Mark of Fitness, Omron, Seca, Tanita, Taylor, Zewa.

BMI Scale Use your scale every day

The first thing I do many mornings is weigh myself on my Weight Watchers scale.

I note the weight - is it up or down?

Then, I drink a glass of water, sit down for a while and take my blood pressure.

From these measurements, I judge how I'm doing on my blood pressure control program. Then, I decide what in general I will eat that day.

If my weight isn't where it's supposed to be, that means cut down on food intake.

Without knowing my weight, I couldn't do that, so I recommend that you do the same.

Your weight and, if you want, your BMI give you direction.

You may not want a BMI Scale, but you do need one of the best bathroom scales. Here's some digital scales to choose from:

Health-O-Meter by Sunbeam, Homedics, MyWeight, Seca, Tanita, Weight Watchers, and Taylor.

You can get good ones at your local stores.

When you first begin to lower blood pressure naturally, I recommend that you weigh yourself daily and compare that to what you are eating. The idea is to see from where you are starting.

After you have a good BMI scale, the next step is to purchase one of the blood pressure monitors on the market and only then pick one of the diets that you think you'd like to try.

Maintaining a normal blood pressure and health is fun, actually. It's much better than being sick or old before your time. Well, there's a no-brainer for you.

Good luck, have fun, and lose weight if you need to.
